Who You Gonna Call?

My latest acquisitions. They’re the “Paranormal Investigators” from Crooked Dice. I think we all know who they really are, though. 🙂

September 21, 2014 – This Week in Painting

A very light week this week in the painting department. Only one set of figures. These are villagers from the Bones collection from Reaper miniatures. What town is complete without the bar staff, the harlot, the blacksmith, the porter, and the grave digger?

September 14, 2014 – This Week in Painting

This week I didn’t have as much time to paint as I’m used to since I’m back to teaching. Still, I managed to get these Black Powder – French and Indian War – British Regular Infantry from Warlord Games. I picked these up a long while ago for using with my pirate figures. I’m quite pleased with how they turned out. It’s been a while since I painted anything with quite such bright colours and tiny fiddly bits. But that’s British red-coat uniforms for you.

I’m happy with the base design I came up with as well. The individual miniatures are based on steel washers and the base has inserts set into it for each miniature with a rare-earth magnet inside to hold them in place. So when they’re in their firing line, they’re held nicely in place and casualties can be removed individually from the base.

September 7, 2014 – This Week in Painting

Another fairly slow week for painting this past week. Just a couple of World War 2 (or alternate World War 2) painting jobs.

First off was a set of Waffen SS from Warlord Games’ Bolt Action line for my friend Tom.

The other job was a couple of SSU (Russian) Silent Death snipers from Dust Tactics by Fantasy Flight Games. These were just for me. I have to admit I love the alternate history of World War 2 and the miniatures are awesome. I only wish they came unassembled so I could put them together myself. Ah well, you can’t have everything.

Aug 31, 2014 – What I painted this week

This week was a little slower than last week. There were only a couple of projects for myself.

First, since you can never have enough miniatures for Zombicide, I painted up a bunch of berserker zombies from the Zombicide Set #3: Angry Zombies.

The second project was finally painting a squad of Braineaters from Dust Tactics that I picked up a few months ago. I guess they could go with the Jagdluther I painted last week, but really I just wanted some Nazi zombies.

Things I’ve painted this week

I’ve been busy with painting this week.

First, I painted a Haqqislam Starter Set from Infinity: The Game for one client. He wanted nonstandard colours so they could be used as PCs and NPCs in his weekly Shadowrun game.

Next, I painted the Protectorate of Menoth’s Renik in all his glory riding in his chariot. My client, just like the last one, wanted this Warmachine miniature from Privateer Press painted in nonstandard colours. I think the change from his typical white makes him look even more frightening.

Next, for myself, I modified a Jagdluther from Dust Tactics from Fantasy Flight Games by adding a hatch and a Nazi officer from one of my Bolt Action panzers. I then painted it in a World War II German panzer ambush camouflage pattern and decorated the base. I thought it would go nicely with the Nazi zombies I have for Achtung Cthulhu! Leave it to a Nazi to step on the flowers with his mech. 🙂

And last, but not least, I finally received the a 1:50 scale Hot Wheels Mystery Machine. I happily modified it to go along with my post-apocalyptic Scooby Gang that I posted about last week. I have to thank the “ConfusedDad’s Mental Wanderings” blog for the inspiration.

Rooby Rooby Roo!

I just had a lot of fun painting up this team from Hasslefree Miniatures in the UK. They shipped incredibly quickly and there was even candy included along with them! Titled as “Post-Apoc Gang”, they’re a wonderful, if unofficial, weapon-wielding Scooby Doo gang that’s going to be great for a lot of games. As of now, I’ve printed out modified character sheets/cards for Zombicide, Last Night on Earth/Invasion from Outer Space, Betrayal at House on the Hill, and Arkham Horror. Most, if not all, of these came from threads on boardgamegeek.com. It should be a lot of fun adding these to some of my favourite games.

World Map

Just for fun, I went back and looked at everywhere I have provided products or services to and marked them on a world map. Not bad, eh?
